Cheap Flyer Printing in Singapore

Looking for cheap flyer printing services in Singapore? Type in “Cheap Flyer Printing Singapore” in Google and you will be presented with a whole host of options! We decided to pick one company and give it a go.

How we made our choice

Our aim was to find a company that was responsive, had a sales person in charge to answer our queries and had a short lead time. We dropped a few emails and made some phone calls. Most of them replied within the day. Below are some variances between the companies.

  • Different lead times, averaging between 5 – 7 working days. Of which some were unable to guarantee a specific completion time.
  • Artwork processing fee. Some charged for it while others do not. Artwork fees range between $0 – $80. Do note that some artwork fees are charged based on the number of sides. For example, if you have a double sided flyer and the company charges $40.00 per side, your total cost for Artwork processing will be $80.00
  • For quick turn around, many pointed us to the digital printing option which had a shorter lead time of about 2 -3 days. Do note that majority of the companies charge a higher price for Digitally Printed Flyers (Digital Printing) compared to Offset Printed Flyers (Offset Printing)
  • Delivery fees between companies range between $5 – $20. Of course if you wanted, you could do a self pick up which is free!

Ordering process

The company we chose was Print Arena, the prices listed were reasonable and they didn’t charge additional for delivery. The enquiry was made via whatsapp, and the reply was almost instantaneous. We were told to email the artwork over. Once done, an invoice was sent across for us to make payment (All flyer printing companies require upfront payment before actual production). Customer service was great and they ensured us that we would receive our goods within 3 working days. We made payment and approved the FA (Final Artwork) at the same time.

Receiving of prints

Packing – As promised, we received our 5,000 batch of offset printed flyers in 2 carton boxes. Each box had a total of 2,500 pieces bundled nicely in stacks of 250 pieces (this request can be made during your order, so that you can pass them on to distribution channels easily). They even included an extra 100 pieces, I guess it for us to replace faulty ones or potentially to keep as samples.

Quality – There were some colour variances between prints but this was expected for any type of print job, nothing too critical that affected the overall appearance of the flyers. A machine varnish was used for the prints that gave it a nice matt finish (prevents finger print marks). We required a gate fold for the flyers, these were done nicely. The folding was nice and crisps, however as most large print runs are machine folded, do expect a little bit of cracking to occur along the edges. This is due to the buckling process of folding machines.

Mistakes we made – There was a spelling error in the artwork that we didn’t spot, but it was in a fine text, so we let it go. What was a little more crucial was that was a line of text that we didn’t notice which was too close to the cutting line, luckily it wasn’t cut into half. It would have been nice if we were notified of this. But once again, it’s the responsibility of the designer to do their necessary checks like Artwork Resolution, Bleed and Margin requirements, Colour settings, Black Overprint settings and of course Content (Spelling especially!).

Review

Overall, the print job went smoothly and we received our goods with no hiccups. Price was extremely reasonable and the service was great. For as long as your final artwork is well prepared, the company pretty much prints exactly what you have in your digital file. Do expect some colour variances from what you see from screen. For quick turn arounds, you can use digital printing, if not offset for better prices.
